Several eXtyles users have reported a problem where eXtyles can sometimes run Advanced Processing successfully, but if any process adds Word comments, then the process hangs without returning the pop-up dialog box reporting on those comments.
This problem is most likely caused by a corrupted Office or Windows update. Some eXtyles users were able to resolve the problem with the following solutions:
Revert the Office version by uninstalling to a version from before this problem occurred. This may require uninstalling multiple Office updates. You can then run a repair to update Word to the newest build with a clean install.
This problem appears in most common in Office 2601 updates starting in December 2025. Some users were able to resolve the problem by rolling back to Office 2512 or 2511 and then re-installing eXtyles.
